Google is a go-to source for many people because of its comprehensiveness, but that can also lead to unmanageable search results.
For better Googling use the site feature in your search. For example, if you want to find out about poverty in Ohio you would search: poverty site:*.oh.gov. Using the * (wild card) allows any government site in Ohio that deals with the topic poverty to be included.
You might also try phrase searching, which can be done by putting quotation marks around the phrase. For example: "child abuse" will search those two words in that order, with no words in between.
Google has many helpful tips here.
