What is a digitization request?
A digitization request allows you to ask the library to scan and provide a digital copy of a physical item (e.g., a book chapter or journal article) that is held in the library’s collection.
How do I submit a digitization request in Primo VE?

Search for the item in Primo VE.
- Click on the item title to open the full record.
- If eligible, you’ll see a “Digitization Request” option under Get It or Request Options.
- Fill out the request form with details (e.g., chapter title, page range).
- Submit the request.
What can be digitized?
- A chapter from a book
- An article from a print journal
- A small portion of a physical item, in accordance with copyright guidelines.
Are there limits to what I can request?
Yes. Requests must comply with copyright laws:
- Usually limited to one chapter or 10% of a book
- One article per journal issue
- Requests exceeding limits may be denied or require special approval.
Can I request digitization for items from other libraries?
Digitization is usually limited to items owned by your library. For external items, consider using interlibrary loan or contacting your library for assistance.
Where can I check the status of my request?
Log into your library account in Primo VE and go to My Requests to view the status.
