Placing a Hold on Locally Owned Books via CavsSearch (Primo)

Q: How do I place a hold on a book owned by our library?
A:

  1. Go to CavsSearch, select the Br. Drouin Library tab.
  2. Search for the book you want.
  3. Select the "Held by Library" limiter under the "availability" limiters.
  4. Sign in using your Walsh Credentials by clicking "sign-in" in the yellow banner. Narrow down results to locally owned books
  5. Click the title to open the full record.
  6. Select Request (this option appears only when signed in). Request locally owned book
  7. Confirm pickup location and submit the request. 

Q: Can I place a hold if the book is currently available on the shelf?
A: Yes! Holds can be placed on available items to ensure they’re set aside for you at the circulation desk.

Q: How will I know when my hold is ready?
A: You’ll receive an email notification when your item is ready for pickup.
